What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They allow the site to recognise your device, remember information about your visit, and operate certain features. "Similar technologies" include web storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), pixels, and tags — anything that stores or reads information on your device.

Cookies can be set by us (first-party cookies) or by a third party whose service we use (third-party cookies). They can also be "session" cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent" cookies, which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.

How we use cookies

We group the cookies we use into four categories. You can manage your preferences at any time through our cookie banner or from the "Cookie preferences" link in the website footer.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies are required for the platform to function. They keep you signed in, protect against fraud and abuse, remember the items in your application as you move between pages, and load the platform efficiently. Because they are necessary for the service to work, they cannot be switched off. Disabling them in your browser will prevent the platform from working correctly.

• ·  session — maintains your authenticated session while you use the platform.
• ·  csrf_token — protects against cross-site request forgery.
• ·  locale — remembers your preferred language.

Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the platform so we can improve it. They collect information in aggregate — for example, which pages are most visited and how users move through the application process — and do not identify you personally. We only set analytics cookies if you have given consent.

• ·  Aggregated page-view counts, traffic sources, and performance metrics.
• ·  Anonymised device and browser statistics.

Preferences cookies

Preferences cookies remember choices you have made so the platform behaves the way you expect on future visits — for example, your preferred language, locale, and the state of any application draft you have saved. Without these, the platform would not be able to remember your selections between sessions.

Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and to show you Lange Sky content on other sites. We do not currently run advertising cookies; this category is present for transparency so that you can opt out in advance of any future change. If we add marketing cookies in the future we will request consent again before doing so.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies on the platform are set by third-party service providers whose services we rely on — for example, our payment provider and any analytics provider we engage. Each third party is bound by a written agreement that limits its use of cookies to providing the relevant service to us. The list of third parties is maintained in our cookie-preferences interface.

How long cookies last

Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for the period specified by the cookie — typically between 30 days and two years — or until you delete them. Each cookie's expiry is set out in our cookie-preferences interface and is also visible in your browser's cookie inspector.

How to manage your preferences

You can change your preferences at any time:

• Through our cookie preferences interface — open it from the link labelled "Cookie preferences" in the website footer, or by reopening the cookie banner.
• Through your browser — most browsers let you block or delete cookies for any site. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent the platform from working.

If you use multiple browsers or devices, you will need to set your preferences on each one separately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of the page shows when the latest version came into force. Material changes will be communicated to you through the platform or by email before they take effect.
